The Rapid City Council will have to repeat the entire approval process for the Tax Increment Financing Districts (TIF’s) known as the “Libertyland” ($125M) and “Catalyst” (estimated at $55M) projects because the city did not publish them correctly the first time. This unforced error offers the citizens of Rapid City some much needed time to study these proposals that will add to our tax load and weigh in on them. We are asking concerned citizens to attend the following meeting and speak in opposition of both items:
Sep 2, 1830 (6:30 pm), regular City Council meeting – Both TIFs will be on the agenda for final approval. Only one vote is required to pass these resolutions. There will be no second reading.
Meeting will be held at City Hall at 300 6th St.
The Libertyland TIF, at $125M, is the LARGEST in the city’s history!
